After 7 years spent in the club, Andrey Voronkov decided it was time for him to leave the club! Lokomotiv Novosibirsk had a pretty unsuccessful 2015/16 campaign, as they finished the at the 6th place in the Russian Championship…

Voronkov decided to take the full responsibility.

“This was a very difficult season, full of long travels and with tight schedule. As far as I am concerned, all the players have showed that they are worthy of being part of Lokomotiv. Still, we haven’t fulfilled our goals, which are always the highest possible, so I announce my resignation. I think it will be good for everyone in the terms of development. I wish all the best to the club, the players and to our fans that have been with us during all these years,” said Voronkov for the club’s website.

Andrey Voronkov has been the head coach of Lokomotiv Novosibirsk since 2009, while his greatest success was winning the CEV Champions League in 2013. He also won 2 national cups along the way.
