In the day’s inaugural match, Argentina, the Tokyo Olympic bronze medalists, booked their place in the VNL 2023 finals by overpowering Germany in a straight-set victory (25-23, 25-18, 25-17). The Argentinian side was led by Luciano Palonsky and Agustin Loser, who amassed 14 and 13 points respectively, while Linus Weber was the most effective German player with 13 points.
The second match showcased Serbia’s resilience and tenacity as they battled it out with Cuba to secure a crucial 3-2 victory (19-25, 25-23, 25-21, 22-25, 15-11). This result bolstered Serbia’s hope for a spot in the finals and their ninth-place standing.
