The Bulgarian men's volleyball national team has suffered the first defeat at the World Championship.

Iran has come to this tournament to make some big things and they are slowly marching to that goal.

After taking the first two sets, Iran couldn’t keep that level of performance, so the Bulgarians took the opportunity to decrease the lead of the rival.

However, in the fourth set, Igor Kolakovic’s side played again at the high level, clinching the game in four sets!

Mohammad Manavi was the best scorer with 21 points, while two players had the same number of points each: Seyed Mousavi and Amir Ghafour – 11. Ali Shafiei added 10. In Bulgaria, Todor Skrimov had 17, while Nikolay Uchikova, Viktor Yosifov and Nikolay Penchev had 10 points each.
