Ljubomir Travica, a former head coach of Serbia Men’s Volleyball national team (during the time when the country was called Serbia and Montenegro), joined the “scream for justice” of his son Dragan Travica.

A few days ago, legendary Italian setter Dragan Travica posted an angry notice on his Instagram profile regarding the fact that, even two years after leaving the Shahrdari Urmia and one year after officially winning the legal procedure against the Iranian team, he did not receive the money that belongs to him according to the contract which he signed 2016.

His father, a famous coach who is currently at the helm of North Macedonia Men’s national team, Ljubomir Travica gave support to Dragan by posting the following statement on Facebook:

“FIVB - International Volleyball Federation, you must act against clubs refusing to pay their players, coaches, and staff. It is unfair for the clubs complying with their obligations and for those working hard. Shahrdari Urmia is under FIVB sanctions. Still, the club - as well as 5 other Iranian clubs - continue to play without any fear of the FIVB and its decisions. Iran Volleyball Federation or AVC - Asian Volleyball Confederation are powerless. As in other major sports, volleyball clubs must be subjected to national sanctions such as withdrawal of points, impossibility to transfer local players, etc. And no international competitions such as the VNL / VNL Men should be played in the countries of these defaulting clubs. That must change!” Ljubomir Travica wrote.

Recall what a 64-year-old-coach stated for our website about the situation in Urmia upon the arrival in the club three years ago.

This is just the proof how long are promises honored in professional volleyball. Last year Lube said that Stankovic, belowed El Capetano, will be coming back next year when he obtain Italian citizenship, he's been with Lube for 10 years, and we want him back. Reply

RUS W: Karpol enters Guinness World Records!

Watching Nikolay Karpol and Yevgeni Trefilov (handball, head coach of the Russia women's national team) during the timeouts always made me feel sorry for these girls and was amusing at the same time. They both created the stereotypical image of a typical Russian coach – a big guy, always unsatisfied and yelling at everyone :) Still they both achieved a lot and it cannot be denied. Reply
