The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) made further steps in resolving the dispute between Italian player Dragan Travica and his former club Shahrdari Urmia.

In a letter signed by the General Director Fabio Azevedo and attorney Stephen Boch, the FIVB urged the Iranian team Urmia to pay arrears to four of its former employees: the head coach Ljubo Travica, players Dragan Travica and Olli-Pekka Ojansivu, and fitness coach Andrea Pozzi for the services in the 2016/17 season.

The FIVB informed Urmia that if the payments do not take place by September 27, it will start the proceedings towards the club. In the same letter, the governing body of the world volleyball asked the Iranian Federation to act in resolving the dispute that has been standing for a long time.

Recall that the FIVB had already sanctioned Urmia, while Dragan Travica explained in an interview for our website what obstacles he had faced after signing with the Iranian club.
