For an important volleyball nation like Serbian it’s a huge failure not to qualify to the Olympic Games. Nikola Grbić, is aware of that fact and probably he will no longer be at helm of Serbia’s National Team.

„I had a deal (with Serbia’s Volleyball Federation) to lead the national team up to Rio. Based on the results we have achieved and that we will not go to Rio, I’m aware that my position as coach is in question. I’ve already talked with Aleksandar Boričić (the President of Serbia’s VF) and we agreed to sit down in a few days in Belgrade and discuss everything. I am convinced that the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, as in all previous years, will make the right decision, whatever it may be,“ Grbić stated.

He emphasized that at this point there are several national teams that are stronger than Serbia: Poland, USA, France, Russia, Brazil while Bulgaria and Germany are at same level as Serbia.
