The match was mostly a one-way street despite the fact that US team allowed its opponent to win Set 2.

USA had an enormous dominance in blocking (13-1) and aces (11-1)! Thus, there was no chance for the favorites to lose the clash.

Matt Anderson smashed Japan with 20 points, Taylor Sander added 14. Aaron Russell also had an important role, especially in the third set, finishing with 12 points.

On the side of Japan, Masahiro Yanagida scored 14 and Kunihiro Shimizu 12 as the most efficient players.
