In European volleyball everything is subordinated to the 2016 Olympic Games and it includes national leagues, too. Polish championship is among few strong competitions without playoffs in the season 2015/2016. Some of the prominent coaches and players that are working there are against it.

Andrea Anastasi, the coach of the vice-champions Lotos Trefl Gdańsk, is one of those who don’t like the new system of Plusliga without playoffs, considering current formula worse than the previous one.

“I strongly disagree with this decision. The league Board did not think of the teams such as mine, which might be reborn only in the playoffs and later in the finals. Last season, we were promoted to the playoffs from third position. In my view, such a system has been developed for the richest clubs like Bełchatow and Resovia who have long benches. We are not happy about the new system in PlusLiga. I understand that it corresponds with the Polish national team, which will fight for a ticket to the Olympic Games, in January, but I cannot accept such a formula of the competition,” Anastasi has spoken bluntly.

Recall what Stoytchev said about the system in Italian league.
