One of the most promising Peruvian players Luz Chocano dies at the age of 16

Very sad news came from Peru. One of the most promising country’s female volleyball players, Alessandra Chocano Ríos ‘Luz Chocano’, died at the age of 16.

The Peruvian U18 National Team setter Luz Chocano died under unclear circumstances at the reunion of her friends the city of Miraflores. According to the police, the member of the country’s top division side, Jaamsa Voleibol Club, spent the night in her boyfriend’s room. In the early morning, the boy asked for help from his friends, claiming that Luz had fainted.

After trying to provide the first aid to Luz, a guy named Erik Dricher Collantes Saavedra (25) and Luz’s teammate from the national team Kiara Montes (16) took her to the local hospital.

The athlete was admitted to the trauma unit at 6:06 AM but doctors stated to the police that they could only confirm her death.
