He says that it can even benefit the players if they use their time to improve their skills and physical shape.

How did you spend your time during the coronavirus outbreak?

At the beginning of quarantine, I’ve been trying to keep on working almost every day, making some preventive exercises, waiting for the answer about the continuation of the season. Since the league decided to stop, we moved back to Warsaw. Together with my wife, we’re expecting a baby in October so we had a lot of time to prepare everything in our apartment to get ready for this special moment.”

Is this pause going to affect the volleyball players?

Paradoxically, it can also have a positive effect on the physical shape of many players. Those of us who recently didn’t play in their national teams usually were spending 3/4 months without regular workouts enjoying holidays. The first weeks of preparations for new seasons were mostly spent on getting back to the form. As I spoke with my volleyball friends, they were spending their quarantine at home trying to work every day so it can let us reach a good level faster than usual.”

You’ve changed the agent recently. How did that move have an influence on your career?

That’s right. I decided to cooperate with the agency of Georges Matijasevic, which I hope will get me to the international markets.”

How important is it to have a good agency, especially in these difficult moments for sports?

Pandemic times brought us into many stressed situations. Agencies can take off the problem by finding new teams to play. Many markets have changed, and it’s really difficult to handle those steps without the help of agents.”

In the next season, you will be playing in Italy again. What are you expecting from a new season in this country?

Despite the coronavirus, the Italian league will be still one of the strongest championships in the world. My previous experiences in Italy were good, playing with and against the best players from all around the world can give great opportunities to improve the level.”

How would you rate your performances in the last season in Plusliga?

In the previous season, we had a lot of ups and downs. In the beginning, we were not able to find stable form, and it seems that we found the solution in February where we won five straight games playing against the teams from the top of PlusLiga. Unfortunately, right after that, the league stopped and we had no chance to reach our goal.”
