The friendly tournament is presented as a big sport festival with the coaches of the participating teams saying they will use it to help the consistent growth of their players while facing opponents of top level.

Guillermo Nazabal (Argentina): “We just played against the U20 national team of Colombia so this will be an opportunity to test new members of the team like Sol Piccolo. We have six players who just battle for a berth to the World Championship, four of the minor classifications and two juniors who must adapt to get the maximum of this opportunity of getting the international exposure and steadily grow for new world commitments.”

Tomás Fernández (Cuba): “Cuba is a young team of girls born in ’98 and ’99 and forms part of the important work we are doing for the growth of our selection. We have been working with this group for ten months and for this tournament we won’t have two players like Melissa Vargas and Gretel Moreno who have received a deserved rest. In this U20 Final Four we will try our best against teams with a lot of world experience like Peru, which battles hard, Dominican Republic with a long volleyball tradition and Argentina, so it is a good opportunity to know better their playing technique.”

Martín Escudero (Perú): “Our team just achieved important goals like the qualification to the U20 World Championship in Colombia, so now we will continue working to improve and this event gives us the chance to put on court girls like Luciana del Valle who was out due to commitments and now is back with a lot of enthusiasm. Like in each event we will work to get the best result possible and above all to give Peru the chance to enjoy a big sport festival.”

Brazilian Alexandre Ceccato (Dominican Republic): “Our team has been preparing for one year playing in different international events, and now we will be looking to finish first while admitting that each of the teams taking part are strong rivals. Our girls know that we don’t have one principal players and I am confident of their talent and effort to achieve the victory.”
