The Serbia Volleyball Federation vice president and FIVB Development Commission member was speaking at the FIVB Workshop on the subject of beach volleyball and school activities saying that motivating participation and the participants, working with the government and educational authorities were crucial elements of a successful strategy.

In Serbia we have grown from having 300 kids aged from five to 15 involved in our beach volleyball activities four years ago to now having 4,500,Grbić, who is also a Special Olympics ambassador, said. “And the response from all the participants is what the goal is all about. All the kids were smiling.”

Two key fundamental parts of people are love and play. If we take these two away, it is difficult to exist. What is most important is to give them an opportunity to play and love volleyball. I touched the sky by playing volleyball. Now my mission is take the knowledge and the passion of those before and transfer it to the kids of today to make tomorrow better. Our job is to transfer this philosophy. Volleyball is not a sport, it is a philosophy of living. We must use sport to make a bridge, make a team. We are the biggest federation in the world, we have a chance to help each other.
