The support of a crowded stadium boosted the performance of the light blue – white jersey team coached by Javier Weber and in the first TTO the team already lead 8-6. Chile got the lead with an ace of Matías Tobar but Rodrigo Quiroga and Pablo Crer aces made the first set arrive to the second TTO 16-14. De Cecco showed its best setting giving all spikers the chance to score without having the rival any chances to change their faith. Sebastián Solé, Facundo Conte and the closing point of Federico Pereyra gave the host team the 1-0 advantage on the second match of the first date of the CSV Olympic Games Qualifying Championship.
Dusan Bonacic stayed in the field for the second set replacing Sebastián Gevert injured with the home team getting an easy lead 8-4 and 16-8. Helped by the mistakes of Chile, the host team gained confidence and closed it very easily with a blocking of Solé.
Gabriel Arroyo replaced Pablo Crer in the third set, with Argentina missing some of its serves but leading at the first TTO 8-5. Chile could do little to level the set and Argentina getting every time more advantage closed with a great Pereyra spike the set and the match 3-0.
Tomorrow, at 18.00 will take place the first match of the second date with Venezuela playing v Chile and then, the great dish of the day for the home fans, Argentina will play v Colombia at 9.30.
