One of the most prominent Argentinean Women’s Volleyball players at the moment, Emilce ‘Mimí’ Sosa, revealed she was close to retiring from the national team.

The date of international retirement of Sosa is very close as the player herself explained in an interview for “DeporTV”.

“After the Olympic Games I have spoken with Guillermo (Orduna, the Argentina’s head coach) and I told him that I wanted to pause for a while, but he convinced me to go a little further. And I really appreciate it, for everything we’re going through. It’s incredible,” the new player of the Brazilian Superliga team São Cristóvão Saúde/São Caetano said.

“I try to enjoy every moment. I always did. But, perhaps, now it is more special because I am at a stage where I will gradually leave the volleyball to devote to my life… not the volleyball in general but more the national team. This is going to be my last cycle… I’ll probably finish it, but I am not sure, I’m going to see, year by year,” a 29-year-old middle blocker, who has been wearing the jersey of Argentina since 2009, added.
