“This year’s action packed volleyball calendar begins with the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship. I always enjoy watching the Club World Championships because of its unique flavour that sets it apart from other international volleyball tournaments,” President Graça said.
“There is a different dynamic to club volleyball, which is not a surprise given that each team brings together players from various cultures and backgrounds. Each player knows that they have to work with their teammates, regardless of their individual style and technique to attain the best possible result for the team as a whole.”
“With that work ethic, it is not surprising that the Club World Championships have launched the careers of many athletes who have used this level of competition to hone their skills and techniques, which also translate well to their national team endeavours. I wish them all the best for the 2014 edition.”
“As always, volleyball supporters will be in for a treat and it goes without saying, with an annual competition like the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship on the menu, the FIVB has the perfect recipe to encourage the development and growth of clubs right around the world.”
The FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship Belo Horizonte 2014 starts on Monday followed by the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship Zurich 2014 which starts on Wednesday before the FIVB Volleyball World League starts on May 23.
