BRA M: Volleyball Community Mourns the Loss of Olympic Champion Pampa

The Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) has announced with great sorrow the passing of Olympic champion Pampa (André Felippe Falbo Ferreira).

Pampa, national team member in Brazil’s first Olympic gold medal in volleyball at the 1992 Barcelona Games, also won the 1993 World League and secured a silver medal at the 1991 Pan American Games with the national team.

“Pampa was an exceptionally talented player and a crucial part of the generation that first brought Brazilian volleyball to Olympic glory. He will always be a reference point in our sport. Today is a very sad day for all Brazilian volleyball. The CBV extends its condolences to the family and friends of this great player, who has etched his name in the history of world sports forever,” said CBV President Radamés Lattari.

André Felippe Falbo Ferreira passed away from lymphoma in São Paulo on June 7, 2024, at the age of 59.
