One of the contenders for the Brazilian title, Molico/Osasco won the first leg of Paulista Championship finals by beating, as visiting team, São Cristóvão/São Caetano with 3-0, partial 25-12, 25-23, 27-25.

São Cristóvão/São Caetano in the semifinal vs. Sesi-SP had already given sense of their strength this season, but Molico/Osasco gave them no chance.

With this result, the team led by Luizomar de Moura is close to winning its third consecutive state title. To achieve this, they need a new victory, with any result, in the second leg scheduled for Wednesday, November 5 in the gymnasium José Liberatti which will surely be filled by Molico/Osasco fans.

São Cristóvão/São Caetano has not won this title since 1975 and the only remaining option for them is to reach and win “Golden Set”, extra period that might decide the winner of this competition.

Thaisa from the Molico/Osasco was top scorer of the match with 17 points.
