Courtney Thompson
The silver medalist at the 2012 London Olympics, with eight years in the US national team at the age of 30, Courtney Thompson was hired from Swiss Volero Zürich and will have the responsibility to play in the current triple consecutive champion of Brazil.
„Playing in Brazil was my dream for a long time and I could not be more excited. There is no place in the world where I would play more than here. Fofão is someone who I have been watching for a long period of time. Seeing her play at a high level encouraged me to start dreaming to play professionally. I love exploring new places and mountains. I definitely need to learn how to dance samba,“ Thompson said in an interview for globo.com.
„I am so grateful and delighted to play in this club and being coached by Rezende… I know some of my teammates against which I have played with the United States and I can not wait to play on the same side with them and get to know them. I’m so glad that Fabi will hit the ball from my side of the net,“ American setter added.
