Due to the fact that Brazil was the host of the Final Six, the fans in that country had high expectations. They wanted their favorite players to end fasting in the World League which lasted since 2010 and finally lift the trophy. After last night’s matches, they will have to wait for at least another year.

As United States and France finished mutual clash with an outcome that was suitable for both sides, Brazilian head coach Bernardo Rezende apologized to the fans for being eliminated from the final tournament.

“I apologize to the fans that have supported us so much in the two games. Our team worked hard and managed to get out of a difficult situation after a rough opening. We started well and fell throughout the game. Then, we got a very tough victory in a highly disputed match against the United States, but unfortunately it was not enough,” Bernardinho said.

He expressed hopes that the result in the World League will help Brazil to prepare for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, the competition in which they lost two previous finals.

“It’s hard to be out of a semifinal at home, but it’s a lesson and I hope it will strengthen us for the Olympic Games in 2016,” Rezende added.

We remind you how Brazil played against France and versus USA.
