Sesc had difficulties against Minas in Round 19 but, despite showing a lot of oscillations, they defeated the rivals in the tie-break, partially 22-25, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 15-12.

Sesc made an outstanding reception as a team 72% with two players making exactly that much in this segment, Maurício Borges (25 digs, 2 errors) and João Rafael Fereira (29 digs, 2 errors), while their libero Tiago Brendle made 86% (21 digs)! João Fereira was the best scorer in Sesc with 18 points. Maurício Souza added 5 kill blocks. Robson Devoranen „Bob“ topped Minas with 17 points.

With the win, the team coached by Giovane Gávio kept pressuring the leaders Sada Cruzeiro. Moreover, Sesc took over a provisional lead in the standings, having one win and one point more than the titleholders: Sesc – 17-2; 49 points, Cruzeiro – 16-2; 48 points.

Minas, on the other hand, have an 11-8 record and 36 points, being placed at No.5.
