After recording a maximum win in the 2019 CEV Champions League semifinals first leg against PGE Skra Bełchatów in Poland, Cucine Lube Civitanova needed to claim two sets in the rematch in front of own crowd to be sure of the passage to the Super Finals in Berlin (May 18) and they did it already in the first two sets. The game did not have much of importance after that but the Italian side took the third set as well (25-15, 25-20, 27-25) to stay unbeaten in the competition with a 10-0 record.
Interestingly, these two teams met in the Champions League for the fifth season in a row and this encounter was marked with Osmany Juantorena’s display that consisted of 12 points made through 92% excellent attack (12/13 excellent kills) for Lube! Mariusz Wlazły scored 11 points for Skra.
Lube will face Zenit Kazan in the Super Finals, in a repeat of the last season’s gold medal face-off!
