Italy’s Modena achieved the second win in as many games in Pool D (Roeselare, Belgium) of the 2021 Men’s Champions League. Their encounter against Poland’s Warszawa was considered a face-off of two pretty much leveled teams. However, the SuperLega side proved to be much stronger, sweeping rivals by a 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 26-24).
Serbian Nemanja Petrić (15 points; 4 aces) stood out on the winning side. Jakub Ziobrowski was the only player in double digits in Warszawa (10 points). Damian Wojtaszek had 75 % reception (63 % excellent).
In the other match in this pool, Russia’s Kuzbass Kemerovo (Italian Ivan Zaytsev 13 points, Vladimir Shishkin 73 % reception; 45 % excellent) improved the impression they left on an opening day and beat hosts Knack Roeselare in straight sets.
