A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano left no tangible chance to Vero Volley Monza in the rematch of the all-Italian quarter-finals of the 2022 CEV Women’s Volleyball Champions League and progressed straight to the final.
The defending champions Imoco will play the CEV Champions League Volley | Women final for the 3rd consecutive time. In the quarter-final rematch of the all-Italian clash against Monza, ’The Panthers’ dominated the 1st and 3rd set, annulling the good reaction of the rivals in the 2nd set. Because of the result in the first leg (3-0), the continuation of the match was played mostly with the backup players on the court on both sides. Thanks to the exclusion of the Russian teams from the European cups, Imoco are already qualified for the final, where they now await how the face-off between the Turkish rivals VakıfBank İstanbul and Fenerbahçe Opet İstanbul will unwrap.
Paola Egonu was one of the rare players who remained on the court from start till the end of the match, which resulted in 30 points on her account. Monica De Gennaro made 70% reception (23 digs, 1 error, 35% excellent).
