Turkey outplayed Bosnia & Herzegovina with 3-1 (25-22, 25-15, 19-25, 25-18) thanks to Yasemin Guveli who scored 15 points followed by Asli Kalac and Saliha Sahin who scored 13 points each.
In the second match of the day, Greece won the tie-break against Italy (23-25, 25-23, 25-21, 21-25, 15-9). Anna Nicoletti (23) and Alice Degradi(22) led Italy while Anthi Vasilantonaki (22) and Evangelia Merteki (17) were the best in Greek team.
The next matches are scheduled for tomorrow when Croatia will meet Albania, Spain will play against B&H, Algeria against Slovenia and Cyprus against Greece.
The formula of the competition is simple; the first two teams from all four groups will qualify to the quarterfinals. Women’s will play their ¼ Final matches on June 28 and teams from Groups A will be crossed with teams from Group B while teams from Group C and D will face in the matches for semifinals. The semifinals are scheduled for June 30 while the Final and match for the bronze medal for July 1.
