“This is a prestigious team, a European silver medalist and each coach is an honor to be able to coach such a team. I think that Slovenia is facing a great future, because it has great players. I saw some of them here in Turkey, and some I met in Italy, where I worked as a coach. Vinčić, Urnaut, Čebulj, Pajenk and Šket are exceptional players and their quality has been one of the main reasons that I decided to accept this challenge. I followed European Championship when Slovenia became a vice-champion and saw that it is a quality team but there is still some place for improvement” said 49-year-old strategist who does not hide his ambitions.
“My ambitions are in line with the ambitions of the Volleyball Federation of Slovenia and the Slovenian representative, so we are now facing with a challenge, to try to repeat results, or to try to be even better. If we now say that we will conquer medals and promise that we will be the best, it would be frivolous. But can promise that we will train hard, ” said Slobodan Kovač.
Recall that Kovač has replaced Andrea Giani, on the Slovenian bench.
