The defending champions and also the second-seed Nitra made the Extraliga 2017/2018 finals against No.1 Prievidza the most intense playoff series in Europe, so far.
Nitra won two games in a row to tie the series at 3-3 and will have the chance to clinch the hat-trick of national titles at the rival’s home court in two days.
Nitra prevailed in Game 6 in straight sets, partially 25-21, 25-23, 25-22, thanks to 13 points from Miloš Horník and limiting own errors to only 17. The Brazilian Marcílio Silva scored 18 points for Prievidza.
