“We have played the most important match and it was our worst game. We are of course not happy with the result. We did not play very well especially in attack,” says Giampaolo Medei, Lube coach.
“I think we did not play on our normal level, we played below our capabilities. They were leading practically the whole match, we managed to overcome difficult moments in the second set, but it was not enough,” says Dragan Stankovic, a captain of Lube.
Recall that Trentino won the game in four sets against Lube.

No.. Give the credit to trentinovolley. They really did play so great that eventhough lube is a powerhouse team, trentinovolley can still compete with them and eventually defeated them and be the world champions!
I am following Lube for years, and I haven’t seen the game when they were so powerless like yesterday. Trentino completely overpowered them and didn’t let them play their game.
Frankly, I thought the final will be the cruise for Lube especially after they save 8 match points vs Zenit and sent them home. Leal and Juantorena are better players than Russell and Kovacevic but Cubans didn’t play on their level and that is the reason why Lube lost. And the reason they didn’t play on their level is because of Trentino defense.
Candelaro played awesome tournament, I think he should be one getting best middle blocker award instead of Stankovic.
Lube bought best players in the market last year, they became Real Madrid of volleyball but it is not working so far. Too many stars in the same team.
I agree with you.. Aaron and uros overpowered them and trentino’s defense were on point.
