Italian girls finished their match against host team after only three sets (25-17, 25-21, 25-21) and in that way surprised not only opponents but also their fans.
Serena Ortolani and Miriam Sylla were very motivated against Kim and Co. that they didn’t allow opponents to play as they really can. Ortolani scored 18 while Sylla 17 points while in Korea only Kim Yeon-Koung had the double effect of 17 points.
Italy defeated Korea for just the third time from 12 matches at the world level although the teams had not faced each other since the 2012 Olympics.
