China proved to have more emergency power as they recovered from their five-set defeat on Day 1 of the 2018 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Nations League – Week 1 faster than Argentina.

Both Argentina and China entered the mutual encounter wounded by the five-set losses on Day 1 but, thanks to the support of their crowd in Ningbo gymnasium and inspired play of Jiang Chuan, the Asian side proved to have more spare energy and swept the rivals in Pool 2 in straight sets 25-22, 25-21, 25-18.

The difference in the FIVB ranking between these two sides is significant in favor of Argentina (China are 20th, Argentina are 7th) but it did not have any influence on the outcome of the match.

As a team, Argentina underachieved in blocking (2 kill blocks compared to 9 from China). Chuan delivered 23 points for the hosts while Tomás López scored 10 for the South Americans.
