“I do not think anyone expected that I will return to France. Including me also (laughs). There was an opportunity, I took it. Paris needed a medical joker and I was there. Everything happened quickly” – started Sidibe.
You were on the market…
“I was, because I wanted to go to Asia. I had some offers from European clubs, but I told them to wait. However, things did not go as I wanted. I did not sign anything in Asia. And then Paris showed up with an offer.”
Was possibility of playing in Champions League decisive factor when you were considering to sign with Paris?
“It was a plus, it is clear. This is something I’ve taken into account. But, Paris is my hometown. I have my family here. It felt good to be back in France, and especially Paris.”
People say you are responsible for creating a good atmosphere in team?
“Not necessarily, but I’m a bit like that (laughs). That is my personality, I like to set the mood, make everyone feel my presence. I need that to play, to raise my level. To motivate me.”
You left France a long time ago. How do you rate the level of League now?
“I was surprised. Everyone can beat anybody. There is not a phrase, really. You can not say – the next game we will play against the last placed team, so we will be able to relax. Now, the last placed can easily beat the leader and even repeat that kind of performance.”
Where do you see Paris on the standings at the end?
“Paris is one of the best teams. We are proving that on the court. But we need to continue winning, while managing the Champions League as well. It is difficult. We played three games in six days, plus travel. For example at Narbonne, I joined the group, but I was not in any condition, and they played without me. It’s not easy to play on all fronts, players are tired. But, I am optimistic, as always” – concluded the opposite of Paris.
