In the Marmara Spike League playoff quarterfinals, Chaumont and Tourcoing emerged victorious over Paris and Toulouse, both with scores of 3-1. Nantes-Rezé, however, fell to Saint-Nazaire with the same scoreline, and Tours defeated Montpellier.
Season leaders, Chaumont, did not disappoint in the opening match of the quarterfinals, overcoming Paris in four sets, thanks to Victor Almeida standout 24-point performance (65% attack, 2 aces).
Meanwhile, Nantes-Rezé was unexpectedly defeated by Saint-Nazaire despite Tomas Lopez and Eduardo Chizoba’s efforts, who contributed 17 and 15 points, respectively.
The night held no surprises in the other matches, with Tourcoing beating Toulouse, aided by Pablo Koukartsev’s efforts with 25 points (48% attack, 2 blocks, 1 ace). Tours also clinched a win against Montpellier in a closely contested match, led by Aboubacar Drame Neto (23 pts, 56% attack) and Märt Tammearu’s impressive scoring (25 pts, 66% attack).
