For five years Jochen Schöps dreamt of titles abroad. First in ODINTSOVO afterwards, in RZESZOW. With a 3-1 victory in the fifth and final match over Kedzierzyn-Kozle he finally won the Cup. "We are obviously super happy to have done that thing. A tough season ended great for us. Many games, especially in the playoffs, were tough."

A similarly splendid performance achieved Georg Grozer. His club BELGOROD was in the quarter final series against NOVOSIBIRSK. He started with two commanding victories on home soil, and then in the fifth game, the humiliation came at 3:0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-22) in NOVOSIBIRSK. Main guarantors of success were – as always – Grozer (16) and Olympic gold medalist Dmitriy Muserskiy (16). Now he is in the semi-finals against KAZAN.

In France, it may come to a final with two-time German participation: Marcus Popp reached top with Tours with a 3-1 victory in the semi final series against Narbonne. In the fourth semi-final game Tours won 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-17), but Popp did not play. Final opponents could be Paris with Markus Steuerwald, but after a 2-0 lead in the series against Cannes, the team suffered the equalizer. The decision is made on 23 April in Paris.

The most incredible and most successful season are having Christiane Fürst and Giovanni Guidetti. In the final against permanent rival Eczacibasi the German duo leads 2-0. I.e. it lacks only one victory to win the Turkish Cup. Fürst and Guidetti played a perfect season with victories in the Champions League and Turkish Cup.

The title also near for Margareta Kozuch and Maren Brinker with Busto Arsizio. In the quarterfinals against Giaveno they got two clear 3-0 victories (Kozuch with 22 points and Brinker best points scorer with 12 points in the second game) and reached the semi finals.
