They will all try to get a ticket for the final round that is coming up in late March and will be co-hosted by Serbia and Montenegro and that will also determine the teams representing Europe at the Youth World Champs later this summer in Thailand.
“As we were informed that the Hellenic Volleyball Federation wanted to stage this tournament in Volos, we started searching for that city on the map since we did not know where it was located” says CEV Vice President and Treasurer Philip Berben who is attending the tournament as CEV Technical Delegate. “However, we quickly realized that this city has got a long tradition in staging international events and I am sure that our friends have done their utmost to make sure we’ll all enjoy excellent conditions for this event. Good luck to all teams”.
All teams have found their way to Volos as the first matches are scheduled for Thursday afternoon. “We’ll fight bravely to make it to the finals” says Greece’s team captain Olga Strantzali.
