The experienced setter Katarzyna Skorupa signed a one-year contract with the Italian top division team Saugella Team Monza. A 34-year-old Pole has collected successes everywhere she played: in Italy (one championship, two Cups and Super Cups each), in Poland (one championship, three Cups and two Super Cups) and in Azerbaijan (two championships). She came to Monza from Èpiù Pomì Casalmaggiore.
Recall that she recently spoke about facing difficulties during her career for being a lesbian.
Earlier, Monza extended the contract with German outside hitter Hanna Orthmann and captain Serena Ortolani.
In addition to Skorupa, Monza also signed libero Beatrice Parrocchiale (Il Bosinte Firenze) and Belgian middle blocker Laura Heyrman (Hitachi Rivale, Japan).
