If the Finns have rocked in Herning, Italy also found a few supporters in Odense for the first round of the VELUX EuroVolley 2013. This past Saturday, as the group mentored by Mauro Berruto played Belarus, a few young people got together at Arena Fyn to support their heroes.

”Mum, I’m studying”

“We are spending some time here in Odense as we are on an exchange programme” says Gaetano Sanfelice. “We are attending courses at the local university and as we got to know that the EuroVolley was stopping here and Italy was one of the teams set to play in Odense, we decided to come and support our guys”. They were rewarded with an excellent game by their heroes who edged Belarus 3:1 to claim their second win in the group. “After the game we also had the opportunity to take photos with some of the players who were all very kind and down-to-earth”.
On the picture attached to this article, Gaetano and his friends Luca Bosi and Martina Canesi are posing together with Italy setter Dragan Travica carrying a banner with a very funny script: “Mum, I am studying” just to make sure their parents are not afraid they are wasting their time but busy with their academic duties.
