The extraordinary male volleyball outside hitter has signed a three-year contract with Leo Shoes Modena!
Yoandy Leal is a new Modena player. The Cuban superstar, a naturalized Brazilian, has signed a three-year contract with the Italian side. This transfer of an outside hitter from Cucine Lube Civitanova gained even bigger weight given it was realized between two major SuperLega rivals and title contenders.
A 32-year-old player made his name outside of Cuba in the jersey of Brazil’s Sada Cruzeiro with whom he won practically everything between 2012 and 2018: three FIVB Club World Championships, four South American Championships, five Brazilian Championships, and three Brazilian Cups. The arrival in Italy in 2018 caused an earthquake in the world volleyball market. During the last three seasons, which he all spent in Lube, Leal has won an FIVB Club World Championship, a CEV Champions League, two Italian Championships, and two Italian Cups.
So far, Modena hired Nimir Abdel-Aziz, Bruno Rezende, Earvin Ngapeth… what a dream team!
