Cucine Lube Civitanova is putting all of its faith on the talent in place 4 following the departure of Osmany Juantorena.
Aleksandar Nikolov, a rising star in Bulgarian volleyball and a 206 cm class 2003 spiker who is currently playing for his country’s team in the VNL, has signed a three-year contract with AS Volley Lube.
Nikolov, who is a student at the business school in the United States and has represented Long Beach State University in the university championship for the past two seasons, finished the previous year wearing silver medals from the Big West Conference and the NCAA.
However, the joy of winning Player of the Year is also lifted. Balkan volleyball’s young talent is an artist.
His father Vladimir, now a coach, was brought to Italy by Beppe Cormio in 2007/08 and made his mark by winning the Scudetto in both Trento and Cuneo. So much so that Alex, in addition to Bulgarian and English, speaks fluent Italian thanks to his past in the beautiful country.
“An emerging youngster can only be proud of the interest of important clubs in the Serie A1. I am happy with my choice, I will wear the jersey of the Lube Italian champions! The bond between my family and CEO Beppe Cormio has played a decisive role, I’m going to the right place and I can’t wait to train with my new teammates to continue my growth and give my best,” says Nikolov
