Gioiella Prisma Taranto secured a 3-1 victory over Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina in the 5th round of the SuperLega Credem Banca. Fabrizio Gironi led Taranto with 25 points, pushing them to a solid win in front an enthusiastic crowd of 1,341 fans.
The game opened with a dominant first set for Taranto, winning 25-14, but Grottazzolina fought back to claim the second set 25-23. Taranto regained control in the third set, closing it at 25-17, before clinching the match in a tense fourth set at 29-27.
“We approached this game with focus,” said Gironi post-match. “After slipping in the second set, we kept our mental strength and fought back hard in the third and fourth.”
