ITA M: Video check that caused tensions in Game 1 of Italian playoff finals (VIDEO)

During the second set in Game 1 of Italian playoff finals, there was a total confusion on the court.


Luciano De Cecco from Sir Safety Perugia took advantage of Earvin Ngapeth’s clumsy move to score. Perugia’s players were celebrating the point while their coach Slobodan Kovač was making substitution.

Suddenly, the referee interrupted the game as Modena’s coach Angelo Lorenzetti called for video check of a previous point. It pissed off Kovač who then received a red card for arguing with the officials. But…was he right? Did Lorenzetti call for video check too late?

Anyway, the game was interrupted for almost five minutes during which referees were going back and forth, consulting with each other…
