The most experienced player of Italy at the Olympic Games, Eleonora Lo Bianco, did not hesitate to speak about what was wrong in the national team at the tournament. It included mistakes of head coach Marco Bonitta, who already made a bad atmposphere in the squad by cutting Valentina Diouf at the last moment.
„I instinctively said yes, I was very happy to attend the most important event. The result and how it went, however, have left disappointment and sadness. For us girls, and for the team. I have not had many chances to give a hand to the team. From a certain point of view, my role was defined. I believe that many choices have been questionable. Not only for me but also for others. But now we cannot change things, we cannot go back. Each of us must take only the positive of it, the beauty of this Olympic experience, and start over,“ setter said.
