Serie A1 defending champions Novara defeated Imoco Volley Conegliano in the finals in front of own crowd in “Pala Igor” by a 3-2. Imoco, still shaken after learning that one of their key players Megan Easy will miss the rest of the season, allowed victory to slip out of their hands as they had 2-1 in sets and 19-16 in the fourth set.

But, led by the Dutch Celeste Plak, who scored 26 points (100% attack in the 1st set) and Paola Egonu, who notched 22 points, Novara made a comeback worth a gold medal. Francesca Piccinini from the winning side played the 800th match in her professional career! In Imoco, the Mexican Samantha Bricio scored 18 points, while the Dutch Robin de Kruijf had a significant blocking display (5 kill blocks).

Enright was responsible for Novara`s come back, she was named MVP.
Piccinini is not human, she`s a legend.
