ITA M: After securing berth in 2019 CEV Challenge Cup, Monza extend with Czech prospect

The Italian men’s volleyball club Gi Group Monza extended the deal with one of the most promising players in Europe.

A 20-year-old Donovan Džavoronok will stay in Gi Group Monza for one more season, which will be his third in a row in SuperLega club.

The Czech outside hitter is the best scorer of Monza this season with 455 points, being the key player of the team throughout the season and especially in the Play-off Challenge (the playoff for the fifth place contested by the teams who ended between the fifth and the 12th place in the regular season standings), which Monza won and advanced to the 2019 CEV Challenge Cup.

Despite his young age, Džavoronok has gained a significant international experience, being a part of the Czech national team at the FIVB World League in 2015, 2016, 1nd 2017.

He is the son of Milan Džavoronok, former Czechoslovakia national team member.
