USA and Puerto Rico Advance to Semifinals in Pan American Men’s Volleyball Cup

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic — The United States advanced to the semifinals of the XVII Pan American Men’s Volleyball Cup, defeating the Dominican Republic in straight sets (25-19, 25-21, 25-20). The Americans dominated in attacks (45-33), blocks (6-1), and serves (3-1). Gabriel García led with 12 points, supported by Ethan Champlin and Cooper Robinson, each with 10 points. Henry Tapia was the top scorer for the Dominican Republic with 16 points.

In another quarterfinal match, Puerto Rico defeated Colombia 3-0 (26-24, 25-13, 25-20). Puerto Rico led in attacks (38-32), blocks (7-6), and serves (8-4). Klistan Lawrence was the top scorer with 17 points, followed by Jonathan Rodríguez with 11 and Kevin López with 7. For Colombia, Andrés Piza scored 11 points and Daniel Aponza added 9.
