Former captain of Dominican Republic joins Sports Hall of Fame

Milagros Cabral has been elected to the Dominican Republic’s Sports Hall of Fame.

She will be inducted on October 15 along with nine other athletes and personalities.

Cabral retired after the Olympic Games in London. She was a member of the Dominican teams that won three straight golds at the Central American and Caribbean Games (2002, 2006, 2010), Pan American Games (2003) and Pan American Cups (2008, 2010).

Throughout her career, speaking about club level, she played in Japan, South Korea, Russia, Spain, Italy and Puerto Rico.

In the list of new inductees, there are names of the former Major League Baseball players Luis Castillo, Florida Marlins and Jose Lima.
