PAC W: Again – USA and Dominican Republic in the final

by WoV

A little bit unexpected but in some way really expected, the Dominican Republic and USA will play in the final of the XVII Pan American Cup 2018.

Dominican Republic celebrated win in semifinal over Brazil

Celebration of host team

For the sixth time these two teams will meet in the final of the Pan American Cup and for now, the result is 4-1 for USA. Interesting, the Dominican Republic will for the 13th time play in the final of this competition!

When we said unexpected, we thought that the Dominican Republic have met Brazil in the semifinal and they beat them very easy. The host team outplayed Brazil in only three sets (25-16, 25-12, 25-23) thanks to Brayelin Elizabeth Martinez who scored 23 points.

In the second semifinal match, USA defeated Canada with 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-23, 25-19) and secured their 8th appearance in the final.
