The International Olympic Committee (IOC) set up a task force to find the most optimal time of the year and formula for organizing the Tokyo Games in 2021.

A special coordination commission named “Here We Go“ is launched by the IOC to reorganize the Tokyo Olympic Games that are postponed to 2021. The idea of forming such a group was to find the best possible formula and time of the year to hold the event. The biggest challenges of the “Here We Go“ will be securing all the facilities, both venues and accommodation, ticketing, thousands of existing contracts and inevitable – additional costs that come with the rescheduling of the Olympics.

The President of the IOC, Thomas Bach, didn’t limit organizing the Games only to the summer of 2021.

“The agreement is that we want to organize these Games at the latest in summer 2021. This is not restricted just to the summer months. All the options are on the table including summer 2021,“ the German said to the website of the Tokyo Olympics.
