After they remained without Niko Suihkonen, who continued his career in the French second division side Plessis Robinson, the four-time Finnish champions VaLePa filled his position with the Latvian international. Romāns Saušs has signed a one-year contract with the Vammala club, who’ll represent Finland in the next Champions League (Pool B qualifying tournament).
A 31-year-old outside hitter is familiar with playing in this Scandinavian country given that he defended the colors of Tiikerit from 2013 to 2016 and won two national titles. Saušs was elected MVP of the national Cup in 2016, also conquered by his team. He came to VaLePa from the French top division club Sète and is currently engaged in the 2021 CEV EuroVolley qualifications in Cyprus by the Latvian National Team.
