The Colombians were better in attack points (35-30), blocks (11-7) and service winners (6-2). Melissa Reid (13), Danna Escobar (11) and Yvonne Montano (10) were the best for Colombia while Peruvians Andrea Urrutia and Angela Leyva each had 8 points.
The Brazilian Mauro Marasciulo, coach of Colombia, expressed his joy for stepping on the the podium. “My team came to train without previous matches and even going through difficulties we grew up during this Cup, which served as the first step in preparation towards the world championship.”
Meanwhile Natalia Malaga, coach of Peru, expressed her disappointment with the outcome of his team and stated: “This event has given me a vision of what to do towards the world championship and which players have earned the right to represent the country well.“
