Italian club Sir Safety Conad Perugia got an unexpected ’reinforcement’ for the next season but, at the same time, Argentina National Team lost a player. In the next season, the ’Block Devils’ will have extra room for a foreign player on the roster given that the Argentine international Sebastian Solé got an Italian passport. The Argentina Men head coach Marcelo Méndez revealed that in an interview for the PlusLiga website.

“Luciano (De Cecco) has already confirmed to play for the national team, Facundo (Conte) may also play. We’ll certainly lose the middle blocker Sebastian Solé, who has already acquired Italian citizenship in order to play for Perugia as an Italian next year and not count towards the foreigners limit. The rules are such that since he’ll play with an Italian passport in Italy, he can no longer play for the Argentina National Team. However, we have young promising middle players who’ll get their chance. Overall, our team will be rejuvenated,“ Méndez answered the question of whether or not he’ll be able to count on his main players at the World Championship, who won bronze medals at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
