USA, 2015 winners

FIVB announced the official Groups for the Grand Prix 2016! The main change in comparison to the last year is that the Netherlands was promoted to Group 1 (as the winner of Group 2 in 2015), while Dominican Republic dropped to Group 2 (as the last placed team in Group 1 in 2015).

Take a look at all Groups of the Grand Prix 2016:

Group 1

USA (2015 winners), Russia, Brazil, China, Italy, Japan, Germany, Serbia, Thailand, Belgium, Turkey, the Netherlands (promoted from Group 2).

Group 2

Dominican Republic (relegated from Group 1), Poland, Czech Republic, Puerto Rico, Bulgaria, Canada, Argentina, Kenya (promoted from Group 3).

Group 3

Croatia (relegated from Group 2), Peru, Colombia, Australia, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Algeria, Mexico.

The format of the competition stayed the same. In Group 1, top 5 teams after three weeks will qualify for the Final Six, together with the host of the final tournament. In Group 2 and Group 3 there will be Final Four, like in the previous years.

The Grand Prix 2016 will last from June 3 to July 10.
